SSAA ACT is committed to ensuring that the views of responsible firearms owners are represented accurately and effectively in discussions with government, regulators, parliamentarians, the media and other stakeholders.
A number of legislative reforms have been proposed, discussed or implemented across Australia in recent months. These include changes relating to licensing, permits to acquire, safe storage, firearm ownership limits, buyback schemes, hunting regulation, firearm parts, dealer requirements, club responsibilities, and the development of a National Firearms Register.
These issues have been the subject of extensive engagement by SSAA ACT through submissions, advocacy and consultation.
This survey seeks to understand:
What issues matter most to our members.
Which policy proposals members support or oppose.
The practical impacts proposed reforms may have on licence holders.
The priorities members want SSAA ACT to pursue in future advocacy and negotiations.
Responses will be treated confidentially and reported only in aggregate form.
None of these questions should be taken as the SSAA ACT supporting a particular policy statement. We want to be guided by the views of our members and licence holders so we can informed representations on the policy direction that directly impact on licence holders.
